ChiliProject is not maintained anymore. Please be advised that there will be no more updates.

We do not recommend that you setup new ChiliProject instances and we urge all existing users to migrate their data to a maintained system, e.g. Redmine. We will provide a migration script later. In the meantime, you can use the instructions by Christian Daehn.

Reporting an issue

Before reporting an issue, always first try to search (or browse) for related information, and check the News page to make sure you have the latest version — there might be a solution, workaround, upgrade, or an already reported issue that you can track.

To report an issue:
  1. Select the project the issue relates to.
  2. Click New issue (at top).
    The New issue page displays.

You can also copy or duplicate (copy and then modify) an existing issue: while viewing or updating an issue, click Copy or Duplicate (at top right).
If duplicating, the New issue page displays, with content pre-filled from the copied issue.
If copying, the Copy page just displays a few key fields — for you to change the Project, Tracker, Assigned to, Status or start and due dates on the new issue (you can later edit the issue to change other fields).
  3. Select from the Tracker dropdown whether the issue is for a Bug (problem with current functionality), Feature (request for new functionality) or Support (help with current, working functionality).
  4. For the Subject, type something to easily identify the issue.
  5. Enter a Description, including all relevant information about the issue.
For help with ChiliProject text editing, click the Help link at right — or see Editing wiki pages.
Make sure you include any details that might help the developers troubleshoot the issue, including:
    • what you were doing when it happened
    • what version of the application, plugins, and related software you were using
    • logs or screengrabs (as attachments, see below)
    • if possible, steps you can take to reproduce it.
  6. If there are any relevant Files to add, click the Browse button and select a file, and enter a description if it's not obvious what the file is. (Click Add another file to add more than one.)
  7. Click Create (or Create and continue to create another issue immediately).
The Issue page displays, with a number for the issue along with the details you entered. ChiliProject automatically sets you up to watch the issue. (If you selected Create and continue instead, another blank New issue page displays, for you to add another issue.)

If a duplicate issue already exists, or has otherwise been addressed, or the manager or developer triaging the issue needs more information, they may ask you to verify the issue. Once a developer believes she has resolved the issue, she will also ask you to verify it, before closing the issue.

Depending on your authorization, when entering an issue you may be able to add other fields such as the Status, Priority, Assigned to, Target version, Category, and Watchers.
