ChiliProject is not maintained anymore. Please be advised that there will be no more updates.

We do not recommend that you setup new ChiliProject instances and we urge all existing users to migrate their data to a maintained system, e.g. Redmine. We will provide a migration script later. In the meantime, you can use the instructions by Christian Daehn.

S3 Plugin and ChiliProject 3.x Incompatible?

Added by Nathan Roach at 2012-05-01 04:10 pm

I'm on redmine currently and would like to move to ChiliProject 3. But, we depend on the S3 plugin, which breaks under the new attachment scheme for CP3.0 . See https://github.com/tigrish/redmine_s3/issues/13. Given the increasing prevalence of "cloud" hosting that has limitations on local file system storage, I can foresee this incompatibility being an issue that blocks adoption of Chiliproject for many small businesses and startups. It's also an obstacle that may limit the community that builds around chiliproject if certain hosting models are excluded due to the differences between CP and Redmine.

So, the bigger question is whether there are certain plugins that count as "mission critical" that should be supported or at least monitored by the ChiliProject team? Also, maybe this is something that should be rolled into the ChiliProject codebase as a core feature (non-local storage, via Amazon or other).

In any case, if someone is willing or able to help out with this specific issue, see the GitHub link above. I'm not a fantastic coder, but I'd be willing to help sponsor a solution if possible.
