How does "stay logged in" work?

Added by Václav Stodůlka at 2012-12-05 09:46 am

Hello, can anybody explain me, how does "stay logged in" feature work? For me it creates only a cookies, which expires when closing a browser (see attachment, sorry for language, it is stated "Valid until: End of viewing session"), the same applies for my chiliproject site and also for chiliproject.org - I have created a login here to test it. :-) So when I close and open browser again, I am no longer logged in. Is this expected behaviour? For me "stay logged in" enabled and disabled makes no difference - am I missing something? Kind regards.

Hi,

I'm not a developer... but for my own Chili installation the "stay logged in" works even with closing the browser many times. Just if I didn't logged in for some days, then the cookie expires...

The behaviour you explained I only know from the ChiliProject page (maybe that was intended).

ciao,
Chris

Václav, there is a setting in Administration > Configuration > Authentication to control how long the "stay logged in" cookie is persisted.
