ChiliProject is not maintained anymore. Please be advised that there will be no more updates.
We do not recommend that you setup new ChiliProject instances and we urge all existing users to migrate their data to a maintained system, e.g. Redmine. We will provide a migration script later. In the meantime, you can use the instructions by Christian Daehn.
New Text Editor (Feature #716)
The current text editor is a bit limiting. In a system like Jira, users can paste in straight tables from excel or other applications.
+1 Sadly Chili misses a more comfortable editor (with WYSIWYG or comparable). As long term Trac user this missing feature is an extreme draw back :-(
The only way I solved that was to introduce a separate Wiki - a pity because you can't search it via Chili - which works awesome in Trac :-(
+1 for CodeMirror (http://codemirror.net/), there is even a Rails gem aout there for it: https://github.com/fixlr/codemirror-rails - CodeMirror is not a WYSIWYG, but it is awesome (and is has support for every WYSIWYM syntax markdown/textile/...
If we want a WYSIWYG best option would be Rich, which is an updated variant of CKEditor. Rich is also available as a gem - https://github.com/bastiaanterhorst/rich
Currently a Textile-based WYSIWYG editor is available in a very early / alpha version for Redmine:
This is the IMHO best solution to satisfy users who want WYSIWIG and other users who still want textile syntax.
